Twitter : A new medium of Recruitment? Well Yes it is, atleast for IDFC Bank.

Gone are the days when companies used to recruit candidates through Traditional method such as;
  1.  Newspaper Advertisements
  2.  Tie ups with recruitment Consultancies
  3. Employee references
  4. Job portals such as Naukri.com, Times job, Shine.com and many more. (Still used by many)

Companies now a days very well understand the power of social media and perhaps that is the reason that it is a new medium of looking for prospective employees.

Employees are integral part of an Organization. Finding a new talent is becoming a tough task now a days and therefore recruiters across world are trying to find out new ways to reach prospective employees.

Social media websites LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are used as a medium of recruitment for HR Managers across the world.

Recently launched campaign by IDFC Bank #IDFCTwitterResume on May 16,2016 is the best example.

As a part of this campaign, Applicants are encouraged to share their resume in 140 Characters i.e. as a form of Tweet. This campaign was carried out to recruit employees for Junior and Mid-Level positions with IDFC Bank.

"The Twitter Resume campaign brings to life elements of simplicity, speed and social connect. It resonates with IDFC Bank's key proposition, which is, uncomplicating the banking experience. One facet of the brand we are applying this to is hiring. The campaign urges people to think creatively, and the process also gives us an insight into a candidate's ability to do things in a different manner."    Says Gaurav Rajput, chief marketing officer, IDFC Bank,

IDFC Bank has also posted these openings on other social media websites such as Facebook and LinkedIn.

But this is not the first time Twitter is being used as a Medium of recruitment, In past HCL Technologies had a campaign named #CoolestInterviewEver. As a part of this initiative IT Major conducted interviews over twitter wherein winning candidate got an opportunity to work with HCL's top management on a year long strategic project. Sounds cool right?

So we can say that Social media is a New medium of recruitment and Now "Twitter" too is and will be used for finding out propective employees.

Do you have a Twitter account ? If not then you should immediately make one,  who knows it might just gift you a job :)

Bollywood Vs Hollywood : Hollywood's gain Bollywood's Loss !

We all know that in India only two things make people go crazy, Movies and Cricket. Considering this, Hollywood does not want to leave any stone untouched. They very well understand the demand and Love that Indian audiences showcase towards Hollywood films.

Market share of Hollywood films in India is around 15% and is expected to grow further. So whats the secret behind it? Lets find out !

A week before release, Recently Disney's "Jungle book" had its release 1 week before its release in US, But this is not the first time they did it. Movies like "Avengers: Age of Ultron", Journey 2, Hobbit:3 released a week before releasing in US seeing the market demand.

Amrita Pandey, vice-president and head, and distribution (studios), Disney India says that the decision to advance the release of Jungle Book in India had multiple reasons. “April first week is when most schools get done with exams. We wanted to capture maximum summer vacation time at the theaters. Also, being Jungle Book, the film’s story has a longstanding bond with India, and we wanted to make the most of it.”

100 Cr club For Hollywood films : Recently released Jungle book had to clash with YRF's SRK starer FAN but it did not harm collections of Jungle book. On the other hand FAN failed to attract audiences to the theaters and failed miserably. FAN Collected around 80Crs Net at BO. whereas Jungle book is still running (week 6) and so far collected 178 crs at Indian BO.

This is not the only case where collections of Bollywood films got affected by Hollywood flick, "Caption America : Civil war" had a clash with Bollywood films such as "One night Stand, Traffic , Baaghi and 1920 London". Still Friday BO figures and total earnings of Caption America: Civil war are far more compared to these films.

Today's release "X-MEN: Apocalypse" also opened at about 50% at the box office even after having a clash with Aishwarya starer "Sarbjit"

Apart from this Hollywood is also going local to capture remaining Indian market by dubbing their films into Telugu and Tamil, Hindi languages.
To engage the audience further, they also trying to rope in Bollywood stars like Irfan Khan (Jurassic World and Many) , Anil kapoor (Mission Impossible and Slumdog millionaire )

Recently released "Caption America: Civil War" Varun Dhawan was roped in to give a voice to the main character of Caption America.

So with all this we can only say one thing that "Hollywood's Gain is Bollywood's Loss" isn't it ?

Tim cook's visit to India: Who will be benefited ? Apple or India

Apple CEO, Tim Cook arrived in India. Do you think his visit to India would be beneficial to India ? or it is just the other way around. Lets find out, Whats his (Tim Cook's) agenda.

Benefits to Apple:

  1. Reportedly Apple has only 2% market share in India and after reporting reporting their first ever decline in sales they have to focus more on other markets like India where there is huge demand for smartphone users.
  2.  Soon Apple will have its own retail stores in India but it will not be easy for apple to to service in a market where people have far less cash as compare to its home market. For this they need to understand Indian consumers very well as far as their spending habits are concerned
  3. Almost 60% of Apple's revenue comes from overseas market and a Market like India, Which will soon become 2nd largest market of smartphone users, Apple do not wish to leave any stone untouched.
  4. Apple also wanted to sell their refurbished smartphones in India for which they sent a proposal to ministry of telecommunication and information technology. But ministry refuse to give them the permission.
  5. Apart from this, Apple is trying to bring its "Pay Services" to India and that's the reason Tim Cook Made a visit to ICICI Head Quarters, Mumbai
Tim cook's visit to India would be focusing more on finding out alternative ways for above mentioned areas. Apple at any cost doesn't want to take any chance when it comes to dealing with 2nd largest smartphone market .i.e India.

Benefits to India:
  1.  Apple will soon have its "Technology Development Center" in Telengana which would create job opportunities for many.
  2. Apple announced plans to set up a "design and development" startup accelerator in Bengaluru, Cook also met executives from startups Numerics, Avaz, Sweetcouch and Urban Clap.
  3. Good nwes is that, Apples plans to manufacture iPhones in India, which will make it cost a bit less.

Conclusion: Tim Cook's visit would be beneficial to both India and Apple. They both need each other for upcoming growth opportunities to make maximum out of it.

Why "SALMAN KHAN" Makes a best choice as Goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics 2016 ?

The news is just two days old since IOA has appointed SALMAN KHAN as a 'Goodwill ambassador' for Indian continent.  Some of them think that it is a very good decision which will help attract more eyeballs to Rio Olympics 2016 and encourage youth in India whereas some think that Salman Khan's image and his contributions towards sports doesn't make him eligible for the same. What's your opinion?

The controversy raised when Olympic Icon Yogeshwar Dutt took twitter to express his disappointment on Salman being appointed as Goodwill ambassador.

Legendary Milkha Singh and Dhanraj Pillay too expressed their disappointment.

On the other side IOA is firm on their decision of Salman Khan as a Goodwill ambassador.

"We are very happy and thankful on Salman’s offer to support Olympic Sports in this country. This association is only a gesture and does not include any monetary consideration,”

"…our key objective of bringing him on board is to draw maximum attention from the masses, due to which there will be more eyeballs and viewership which will eventually result in popularising Olympic sports in the country. We may appoint more icons from other walks of life like music, cricket, art culture and Olympic sports etc"
                            - IOA Secretary General Rajiv Mehta said in a statement.

champions like Abhinav Bindra, Mary Kom and Sardar Singh also backed IOA saying

Salman has a huge fan base. He has good views on sports and it’s a good thing for Indian sports that he has come on board. A lot of people are getting connected to Olympic sports because of him. (But) People are entitled to their views. I respect their opinion,” Sardar said.

“It hasn’t happened before, it’s a good thing for the athletes. It’s good for us to have a brand ambassador like him,” opined Mary Kom, a bronze-medallist from the 2012 London Olympics.

India’s first and only individual Olympic gold-medallist shooter Abhinav Bindra tweeted "Dear @BeingSalmanKhan, am sure you will use your tremendous goodwill to help Indian Olympic Sport and Olympic athletes in their pursuit towards excellence".

Salman is always known for his good work when it comes to helping others. He also has "Being Human Foundation" which does a phenomenal job of helping needy in Healthcare and Education.

The stories of the actor’s generosity are well-known. He helps the poor — donates his watches, money and even promises to build them homes. which makes him an influential man of the industry with a kind heart.

He is known as Box office SULTAN as he has given back to back 100 crs club films (Only actor to do so with almost 7 plus films) with his Bajrangi bhaijaan winning a National Award.

He is known for his Mass appeal with ability to connect with people located across remote places of India.  He is equally popular among people across all age groups. He is the one who has started trend of Bodybuilding in India and inspired many.
